Abstract

The cooperation of two prominent Armenians of the 20th century, Hovhannes Toumanyan and Commander Andranik, in the year 1917, which was fateful and tragic for the Motherland is considered.

The closeness and cooperation between Toumanyan and Andranik acquired new features during the World War I, when the existence of the Armenian people was threaten­e­d.

Through their joint efforts, in April 1917, the newspaper “Hayastan” was published in Tbilisi, in the first issue of which Toumanyan’s program articles “Armenia must speak” and Andranik “Restoration of the Motherland” were published.

“Armenia must speak” - by this name, the cooperation of the two great Armenians developed for the sake of saving the Motherland.
