THE PANORAMA OF SOCIAL CONTRADICTIONS IN VAN IN THE NEWSPAPER “ARMENIA”

Abstract

In the French city of Marseille, on the pages of the newspaper "Armenia" published by Mkrtich Portugalyan, national, socio-economic, spiritual and moral issues were widely and multifacetedly covered. M. Portugalyan, the founder and editor of the newspaper, publications, researched and analyzed the political and social processes that were taking place in Van and the regions of Vaspurakan, sharply criticized the policy of the Turkish authorities against the Armenian people, which led to the eviction of Armenians from the given territories. In the very first issues of the newspaper, we see a living image of Van.

From time to time, publications presented the hard life of the people, burdened by everyday worries, suffering and pain.
