At present, several simple mathematical models are known for determining the amount of harmful substances emitted by cars. These models do not take into account the effect of specific sections of the road and street networks on the amount and composition of harmful gases emitted. The paper proposes a simplified model to determine the influence of the slope of the longitudinal profile of the road on the change in the speed of traffic flows.
