Abstract

With the help of mathematical modeling, the efficiency of implementing passive autocatalytic hydrogen recombiners (PARH) in nuclear power units, in the case of severe accidents as a possible strategy to reduce the risk of hydrogen is investigated. It is shown that even in the most conservative calculation scenarios, the system of the PARH can be used as an effective strategy for reducing the risk of hydrogen in case of severe accidents.
