Abstract

Bimetal compounds play an important role in accelerator technology. The connections of various critical nodes in accelerators, such as accelerating structures, radio frequency wave windows, waveguide nodes, etc., are performed using this method. It is known that modern accelerators impose strict requirements on the physical and mechanical properties and chemical composition of materials used in vacuum systems. For this reason, stainless steel, its grades, and copper with its alloys were chosen as the object of research, since they are the main materials of accelerator assemblies. There are many ways to connect heterogeneous metals, but diffusion welding and soldering technologies were studied within the framework of the topic. The advantages of inhomogeneous metal compounds by vacuum soldering were studied, namely: low thermal stresses, minimal possible deformation of parts, reduction of surface oxidation phenomena, etc. As for vacuum diffusion welding, the advantages of this method have also been studied. A comparative analysis of the results was carried out, based on the research of modern literature.
