Experimental studies have established simplified quadratic mathematical models of dependences of microhardness of the hardened layers and the depth of their penetration on the technological parameters of the ultrasonic smoothing process. It is shown that, regardless of the type of the obtained graphical dependences of the studied parameters on the technological modes of the smoothing process, in all cases and for all the processed materials, they are obtained at the highest static pressure and the amplitude of the indenter and the lowest feed of the smoothing process. It is established that the use of the technology of bilateral ultrasonic hardening of sheet blanks allows to improve the weight characteristics of the manufactured thin-walled machine parts by up to 20 ... 30%.
