Abstract

This report investigates the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in optimizing Armenia's logistics infrastructure to mitigate environmental degradation. The country's transport sector faces significant challenges, including a rapidly growing, aged vehicle fleet, outdated urban transport systems, and a heavy reliance on fossil fuels, which contribute substantially to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and air pollution. This study reviews recent scholarly literature on AI's applications in green logistics, highlighting its proven capabilities in predictive demand forecasting, intelligent route optimization, and efficient fleet and warehouse management. A tailored framework for implementing these AI solutions within the Armenian context is proposed, addressing both national and emerging regional transport networks. The report also provides a critical analysis of key barriers to AI adoption, including infrastructural deficits, financial constraints, and data governance issues. It concludes with policy recommendations for governmental, private, and international stakeholders. This analysis demonstrates that while significant hurdles exist, a strategic, phased adoption of AI can transform Armenia's logistics sector, fostering a low-carbon, resilient, and economically vibrant future.
