Depending on maintenance conditions, an analysis of tribological tests of polymer-based self-lubricating composite materials modified with molybdenum concentrate and polytetrafluoroethylene is carried out. As a result of changes in the content of fillers, sliding speed, load, as well as the roughness values of friction surfaces, antifriction composite polymer materials with minimal values of wear intensity and friction coefficient were developed.
In order to study the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of friction transfer films formed in metal-polymer tribojoints, optical and scanning electron microscopy methods were used, which made it possible to evaluate the film thickness, coating surface, degree of adhesion between the film and the metal counterface. The durability and efficiency of the transfer film is ensured by the process of self-lubrication of the metal-polymer tribojoint, thereby determining the wear resistance and durability of the friction unit itself.
The introduction of fillers into the composition of the composite contributed to a significant transfer of their main elements to the surface of the metal counterface, and the enrichment of the surface film with these elements led to an increase in surface density, therefore, an increase in the thickness of the transferred layer by 1.5. 1.9 times, as well as an
increase in film adhesion strength by 1.2...1.5 times compared to the original polymer material.
Friction transfer films were also studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the analysis of which showed that tribochemical reactions occurring between the film and the metal counterface stimulate the growth of adhesion between them, which helps to increase the strength and efficiency of the metal-polymer tribojoint and to reduce wear in the contact zone.
