The process of penetration of a bullet cope of high hardness and speed into a two-layer body armor is considered. It has been shown that the combination of a ceramic tile and a basalt impact and resistant fiber reinforced composite substrate enables the creation of a hightweight armor protection system with high ballistic properties. The effect of the physical and mechanical structural and ballistic properties of individual layers on the effective armor protection indicators of the body armor is described. The effect of the mechanical and structural properties of the flexible composite tray on the degradation process of the ceramic layer is shown. The effectiveness of creating a top layer of body armor from basalt sloth is considered.
