In Republic of Armenia rich in deposits of non-ferrous metals, special attention is paid to the development of the mining and mining industries. The technological processes of extraction and processing of these metals are associated with the formation of a large amount of solid and liquid waste, the accumulation of which causes a great environmental hazard to the environment. In addition, a significant accumulation of heavy metals in the soil cover leads to a decrease in productivity and a deterioration of the quality of agricultural products, which are ultimately transmitted along the food chain.
The Teghut mining and processing complex is chosen as the object of the study. Liquid waste is collected in tailing dumps, which occupy large areas and are contaminants of air and adjacent land areas.
The paper analyzes the quantitative and qualitative indicators of heavy metals in the soil of land areas adjacent to tailing dumps. A method for purifying industrial wastewater from copper and molybdenum ions is proposed.
The method is based on the adsorbtion process, and bentonite is used as an adsorbent. Based on the proposed method, taking into account the productiveness of the complex and quantitative characteristics, a technological scheme of wastewater treatment has been developed.
Wastewater coming from the tailing dump to the sump is subject to treatment, from where clarified water flows back into the process. The proposed method allows to reduce the concentration of copper and molybdenum ions, at the same time makes it possible to exclude the use of a sump, which will reduce environmental pollution.
All equipment used in the technological scheme of cleaning is standardized, which will significantly reduce the economic performance of production.
