Abstract

The results of studying the development of autoclave building materials based on desert sands, cement dust and other industrial wastes are presented. A new approach to the use of desert sands and industrial waste disposal is proposed aimed at their more efficient use.

Autoclave building products are one of the main building materials that are widely used in standard, domestic, municipal, industrial and other constructions. It is shown that the developed technology is promising for the production of not only silicate bricks from waste, but also blocks, partition plates, etc.

The main component of building material production is quartz sand the reserves of which are sharply decreasing in the world because of large-scale construction, especially in megapolises. Therefore, we studied various materials in order to replace quartz sand. Desert sand is close to quartz sand by chemical composition. The physicochemical properties of desert sands were studied and a technology based on them was developed. Desert sand was calcinated at a temperature of 1000 ° C for 1 hour in order to increase its reactivity.

To make product elastic during molding instead of expensive plasticizers and other organic fillers the cement dust captured by electrostatic precipitators of clinker kilns was added to the moistened desert sand. To obtain a high-strength initial mixture, industrial wastes were added to it. The used concrete was the best additive. Calcium chloride was also added to prevent the volume change of the product. It should be noted that the geometric shape of the compressed products stored until the testing moment was clearly preserved. The compression strength of the product after 28 days of hardening in air was 20 MPa.
