Abstract

The alkylation of acetoacetic ester and malonic ester with benzylchloride by MW radiation is investigated. A comparison of the newly studied technique of alkylation with the usual method of alkylation. As the catalyst, quaternary ammonium salt – TEBAH has been used. It is shown that the conduct of the phase transfer catalysis benzylation in combination with MW radiation contributes to monobenzilation of the studied 1, 3-diketone derivatives.
