INVESTIGATING THE DEFORMATION PROCESS OF THIN-WALLED GRIDER OF A CLOSED PROFILE AT A FRONTAL COLLISION

By using the finite element method, a computational model for the study of the deformation process of the front side member body at a frontal collision is developed. The power distribution of the impact of a solid body at different angles with a given initial velocity to the grider of the rectangular cross-section is estimated. The types of nonlinear deformation of thin-walled structure are introduced.
