STUDYING THE DEPTH OF THE ACTIVE ZONE OF SOIL COMPACTION BY ROAD PNEUMATIC ROLLERS

Abstract

The main factors affecting the process of soil compaction of subgrades of roads by road pneumatic rollers are considered. The process of compaction is studied separately at the initial and final stages. For individual stages of compaction, in the zones of the contact between the pneumatic drums and the soil, based on the diagrams of the distribution of contact pressures, formulas are derived to determine the depth of the active zone of compaction depending on the pressure in the tires and other factors.
