The semantic, structural, grammatical, stylistic peculiarities of Armenian, Russian and English phraseological units, expressing hope, despair, expectation, premonition are studied. The similarities and differences of the peculiarities of the considered units are investgated analyzed and contrasted. This, in its turn, helps to reveal the similarities and differences in the linguistic thinking of the peoples speaking the mentioned languages.
