The movement of a ring on a rough horizontal surface in two cases is considered: first, when the ring is given the speed through the center of the ring, without rotation, and secondly, when, in addition to giving the same speed to the ring, rotation is given around the vertical axis passing through the center. It is shown that if the angular speed of rotation is 20% greater than the speed of parallel movement, the distance traveled by the ring before stopping increases four times.
