The technologies of manufacturing tools used in the stone processing, production and the relationship between the composition and structure of diamond-metal composite materials have been studied. It is shown that diamond-metal compositions, providing high productivity, which along with strength, impact strength and hardness, have some brittleness and antifriction properties, can also provide a self-sharpening condition, that is, wear the metal bond at a rate compatible with the surface layer diamond loss. From this point of view, the technologies of powder metallurgy of the diamond-metal tool production from metallized by thermal diffusion method diamonds and copper-tin bonds are of great interest, which are alloyed with brittle, or such components that form brittle phases with the matrix.
